Overview
When you run Next best actions on a company, the report recommends up to three actions and names a primary contact, and sometimes a secondary contact, for each. The agent starts from people your CRM shows activity with. When the account has little or no CRM history, or when it needs stakeholders you have not met, it searches ZoomInfo for contacts by job title and role. While it does, the run shows a "Searching for contacts" section.
You do not start or control this search. You ask for the report, and the agent decides whether it needs the search.
Before you start
- Open a company profile. For an opportunity, Next best actions uses the opportunity's own contacts and does not search for new ones. Any email, direct phone or mobile phone it does not have is shown as "Not available in source".
- Running an agent team needs permission and AI credits. If the agent teams button or tile is turned off, or a run does not start.
- The search runs as you, so it can only return contacts your ZoomInfo access lets you see.
Run Next best actions and read the contacts
- Open the company profile and click the agent teams button in the profile header, or find the Next best actions tile in the GTM Agents card.
- Click Next best actions. The run starts and its status appears on the button or tile.
- Open the run's progress and look for "Searching for contacts". It ends with a line such as "Retrieved 12 contacts" and lists up to the first 10 people with their job titles, followed by "...and 2 more" when there are more.
- When the run completes, click Open results to open the report.
- In each action card, read the primary and secondary contact, with their title, and the rationale for choosing them.
A search returns at most 50 people, and the agent chooses only a few for the report. The agent searches for one job title at a time, so a run can show the section more than once.
Tips
- Contacts the agent found by search are suggestions. Check a person's profile before you reach out, and see How often GTM One data updates for how fresh the data is.
- The report never asks you for a search. To change who it looks for, run the team again after editing the team's instructions in the builder. See How to add a ZoomInfo step to an agent team.
- Running the team uses AI credits as any agent team run does.
If you see an error
- "No search results found" The contact search came back with nothing to use. Run Next best actions again later, and see Troubleshooting missing contacts in Next best actions in GTM One.
