Overview
An agent team is built from steps that run in order, such as AI Agent steps, action steps, For Each loops and Condition routing steps. Each step has a menu with three options:
- Duplicate: Adds a copy of the step to the same agent team, in the same container or path.
- Copy To...: Copies the step into another agent team.
- Delete Step: Removes the step.
The step menu is available only in an agent team you can edit. When an agent team is open in read-only mode, the menu is not shown. The Run as Form trigger cannot be deleted.
Duplicate a step in the same agent team
- Open the agent team and click the Steps tab. (If your page shows an Edit agent team steps button in the top-right corner instead, click it.)
- Hover over the step you want to duplicate and click the three-dot menu on the right side of the step.
- Click Duplicate.
- Review the new step's settings, then save the agent team.
Copy a step to another agent team
- Open the agent team that contains the step and click the Steps tab. (If your page shows an Edit agent team steps button in the top-right corner instead, click it.)
- Hover over the step and click the three-dot menu on the right side of the step.
- Click Copy To....
- In the "Copy node to another agent team" dialog, select the destination under Select agent team.
- Click Copy Node. GTM One opens the destination agent team, adds the copied step as a new step and shows a Node Copied confirmation.
- Review the copied step's settings, then save the destination agent team.
The copied step keeps the settings it had in the original agent team. The copy is held for one minute. If the destination agent team does not finish loading in that time, the copy is discarded and you need to copy the step again.
Delete a step
- Open the agent team and click the Steps tab. (If your page shows an Edit agent team steps button in the top-right corner instead, click it.)
- Hover over the step you want to remove and click the three-dot menu on the right side of the step.
- Click Delete Step.
- Save the agent team to keep the change.
When deleting a step changes the numbers of the top-level steps after it, references such as "step 3" in the instructions of other steps are updated automatically to match the new numbering. If you discard your changes instead of saving, the agent team returns to its last saved version, including the deleted step.
