Learn how to run an agent team with a CSV file and find the file in its runs.

Overview

An agent team can take a CSV file as the input for a manual run. After the run starts, the run keeps a record of the inputs it was given, and the CSV file appears among them so you can confirm which file a run used. Options for running a CSV as one run or choosing rows are available when your organization has them turned on.

Run an agent team from a CSV file

  1. In GTM One, go to Agent Teams.
  2. Open the agent team you want to run.
  3. Click Run in the agent team's header to open the run dialog.
  4. In the Data source (optional) step, select CSV and upload your file. Include a header row at the top of the file.
  5. Click Next until you reach the Review & Run step, then click Confirm and Run.
  6. Open the team's runs to review the run you started.
  7. Check the run inputs. The file appears under the label CSV file and shows only the file name.
  8. Review each step's results in the columns headed by step number (e.g., Output: Step 1).

Reading the results

Each step of the team has its own output column in the runs view, named by its position (e.g., Output: Step 2). When a step sits inside a loop, the column is named by the loop step and the step within it (e.g., Output: Step 2.1). When a step sits inside a condition, the column also names the condition (e.g., Output: Step 1/Condition 2/Step 1).

A step that repeats for each item shows a single value in its column: the output of the first item.

Choose how the file runs

When these options are turned on for your organization, the run dialog asks "How would you like to run across this CSV?" after you upload the file.

  1. Select Run each row individually to run the agent team once for every row in the CSV, or Run all rows at once to run it once with the full CSV as its input.
  2. If the question "Which rows do you want to use?" appears, select All rows, or select Specific rows and enter a single range (e.g., 1-10).

If you see an error

  • "Error processing file:" followed by a reason. The file could not be read. Check that it is a valid CSV with a header row, then upload it again.
  • "Enter a row range to use specific rows." You chose Specific rows without a range. Enter a range such as 1-10.
  • "This CSV only has" a number "rows." The range goes past the last row. Enter a range inside the file.
  • "You can run up to" a number "rows at a time." The range is larger than one run allows. Enter a smaller range.
  • "Enter a single range (e.g., 1-10). Multiple ranges aren't supported yet." Enter one range only.
  • "Use numbers only, in the form N or N-M (e.g., 1-10)." Remove any other characters from the range.
  • "The first number must be less than or equal to the second." Swap the numbers so the range goes up.
  • "Rows are numbered starting at 1." Start the range at 1 or higher.
