Learn how to run an agent team using the rows of an audience as its input.
Overview
When you run an agent team manually, you can choose an audience as the data source. You pick the audience and, if you want, a saved filter view. You then choose which audience columns the agent team can use and describe each one so the agent knows how to use it. Depending on your account, you can also choose whether the agent team runs once for every row or once for the whole audience, and you can limit a row-by-row run to a range of rows.
Run an agent team on an audience
- Open the agent team and click the run button in the agent team's header to open the run dialog.
- In the Data source (optional) step, select Audience.
- Click the Select audience dropdown and choose the audience you want to use. You can type in the dropdown to search. If your account shows a sheet dropdown next to it, also choose a sheet from Select sheet.
- Optionally, click the Select filter view dropdown and choose a saved view of the audience. Leave it as None selected to use the whole audience.
- If the question "How would you like to run across this Audience?" appears, select Run each row individually to run the workflow once for every row in the audience, or Run all rows at once to run the workflow once with the full audience as its input.
- If the question "Which rows do you want to use?" appears, select All rows, or select Specific rows and enter a single row range in the form N or N-M (e.g., 1-10).
- In the column list, keep the checkbox selected for each audience column the agent team should use and clear it for any column it should not use. All columns are selected by default.
- For each selected column, type a description for the agent that explains how the agent should use that column.
- Click Next and complete the Run as step, choosing Run as Me or Run as Others.
- In the Review & Run step, check the selected source and the credit estimate, then click Confirm and Run.
What to know about the audience options
Filter views: A filter view narrows the audience to the rows that match the view's filters. When a filter view is selected, the row count used for Specific rows is the number of rows in that view.
Columns: Only columns that can be exported from the audience appear in the column list. At least one column must be mapped. If none is, the dialog shows "You must map at least one input".
Run modes: The run mode question and the row question appear only after an audience is selected, and only when these options are turned on for your organization. The row question appears only when Run each row individually is selected, because a run of all rows at once always uses the full audience.
Row ranges: Rows are numbered starting at 1. Enter one range only, and make sure the first number is less than or equal to the second. The range cannot go past the last row of the audience, and one run can use at most 1,000 rows. The limit is checked against the range you enter under Specific rows. It is the same for every organization.
Changing the audience: Choosing a different audience or sheet resets the row selection to All rows and reloads the column list.
Credits: Runs use AI action credits. If the agent team's monthly credit budget has been reached, or your organization does not have enough AI action credits, the run is saved as Rejected without starting.
Scheduled runs: The same audience, filter view, run mode and row options are available when you set an audience as the data source of a Schedule trigger.
If you see an error
- "Enter a row range to use specific rows." You chose Specific rows without a range. Enter a range such as 1-10.
- "Enter a single range (e.g., 1-10). Multiple ranges aren't supported yet." Enter one range only.
- "Use numbers only, in the form N or N-M (e.g., 1-10)." Remove any other characters from the range.
- "The first number must be less than or equal to the second." Swap the numbers so the range goes up.
- "Rows are numbered starting at 1." Start the range at 1 or higher.
- "This Audience only has" a number "rows." The range goes past the last row. Enter a range inside the audience.
- "You can run up to" a number "rows at a time." The range is larger than the 1,000 rows one run allows. Enter a range of 1,000 rows or fewer.
- "The selected Audience set is no longer available. It may have been modified or removed. Please select a new Audience." The audience you picked earlier changed or was removed. Select a new audience.
- "The selected workbook sheet is no longer available. It may have been modified or removed. Please select a new sheet." The sheet you picked earlier changed or was removed. Select a new sheet.
- "Failed to load Audiences. Please try again." The list of audiences did not load. Close the dialog and open it again.
- "You must map at least one input" No column is mapped. Keep at least one column selected.
- "Not enough credits" Your organization does not have enough AI action credits to start the run. Ask your admin to add credits, then run it again.
- "Credit budget reached" The agent team's monthly credit budget is used up. Raise the limit in Settings, then run it again.
