Overview
An agent team runs its steps in order. You can open the steps, change them and save, then start a run. The run uses the steps you saved.
Before you start, keep the following in mind:
- If an agent team is shared with your organization by another organization, you see the message "This Agent Team is shared with your organization. Only the organization that owns it can change it. You can still run it." You can run it, but you cannot edit its steps.
- If your role does not allow a change, the control shows "You do not have permission to take this action".
Edit the steps and run the agent team
- In the left navigation panel, click Agent Teams, then open the agent team you want to change.
- Click the Steps tab. If your page shows no tabs, click Edit agent team steps in the top-right corner instead. You can also choose Edit agent team steps from the agent team's menu in the Agent Teams list.
- Select the step you want to change and update its settings in the sidebar that opens.
- If you change a step to a different type, the Change Step Type dialog explains that "Changing the step type will discard any existing configuration for this step." Click Proceed to continue, or close the dialog to keep the current configuration.
- Save your changes by clicking Save changes in the bar at the bottom of the page, or Save agent team at the top of the page, depending on which one your editor shows.
- If any step is incomplete, the Review before saving dialog lists the steps that need attention. Click Go to error or Fix Errors to correct them, or click Save without fixing to save anyway when that option is offered.
- Start a run by clicking Run in the editor header, or Run agent team (Run manual for a team with a trigger) on the agent team's page.
- If a step is still incomplete or a connection is missing when you click Run in the editor, the Review before running dialog appears. Click Fix Errors to correct the step, or Run without fixing to start the run anyway.

What happens to your edits
- When you reorder, insert or delete a top-level step, references to step numbers (e.g., "step 2") in the instructions of other steps are updated to the new numbering.
- Clicking Run in the editor saves any unsaved changes before the run starts.
- If you discard your edits instead of saving them, the steps return to the last saved version of the agent team. When you leave with unsaved changes, the "You have unsaved changes" dialog asks you to confirm with Discard changes or return with Back to editing.
- Incomplete steps may cause the run to fail. The review dialogs warn that "This agent team has incomplete steps that may cause workflow failures."
