Overview

When you start an agent team from a template, the builder opens a new agent team that is a copy of the template. The copy includes the template's steps and its triggers, and it takes the template's name as its starting name. The template itself does not change.

Some templates contain template variables, which are values you supply for your own use of the template. Until you save the new agent team, the values you enter are kept in the builder only.

Start an agent team from a template

  1. In the left navigation panel, click Agent Teams, then click the Templates tab.
  2. Find the template you want. You can type in Search templates or use the filters to narrow the list.
  3. Click the template to open its details.
  4. Click Use this template. The builder shows a loading view while it copies the template.
  5. Check the agent team's name. It starts as the template's name, and you can change it before you save.
  6. If the template has variables, click Fill in template variables in the banner at the top of the builder.
  7. In the "Fill in details for" dialog, enter a value for each variable and click Apply values.
  8. Review the steps and triggers copied from the template, and make any changes your agent team needs.
  9. Save the agent team. Your template variable values are saved with it.

Before you save

  • The template variables option is available only when the template has variables and the agent team is not read-only.
  • A variable found in the template's steps is required unless the template defines it otherwise. A required variable left empty shows "This field is required."
  • The banner reminds you that the agent team was pre-configured from a template, so review and adjust the instructions and settings before activating it.
