Pause an agent team run until a person approves or rejects the work so far.

Overview

A Human Approval step pauses the run until the person you choose reviews the work so far. The approver can approve it to continue with the next step, approve it with feedback, or reject it to stop the run. Use it before a step that acts outside GTM One, such as sending an email or updating your CRM.

Before you start

  • Whether you can edit an agent team depends on your role. If the builder's controls show "You do not have permission to take this action", ask your ZoomInfo admin.
  • The approver is chosen from the same list of users you can run an agent team as. New steps default to Me.
  • An approval step inside a For Each step sends a separate request for every item, so a long list means many approvals.

Add an approval step

  1. Open the agent team in the builder and add a Human Approval step where the run should pause.
  2. In Subject, describe what is being approved (e.g., Review outreach plan for Q3). The subject is required.
  3. In Approver, select who reviews the run. If no approver is chosen, the step shows "No approver is chosen. Choose who should review this step before the run continues."
  4. Optionally, in Preview guidance, describe what the approver should focus on.
  5. Check the Timeout. A request that nobody answers is rejected automatically after 12 hours, and the run stops. The approver gets an in-app notification.
  6. Save the agent team.

Approve or reject a run

  1. Open the agent team's runs and open the run that shows Pending review.
  2. In the Human Approval panel, review the work so far. The panel shows the approver, when the request was made, when it times out and who triggered the run.
  3. Click Approve & continue to restart the run at the next step.
  4. Or click Adjust..., enter your feedback or adjusted instructions, and click Approve with feedback. The run continues with your feedback.
  5. Or click Reject..., enter a rejection reason, and click Confirm reject. The run stops.

Only the approvers named on the step can decide. Anyone else sees "You are not listed as an approver for this step. Only designated approvers can take action." Once someone has decided, the panel shows "This request has already been responded to."

Run statuses

  • Pending review: The run has paused and is waiting for a decision. Its later steps have no output until the run resumes.
  • Resuming: The run has received its approval and is starting again.
  • Rejected: The run was rejected by the approver, or the request timed out. This status is shown as an error.
