Learn how to start an agent team when rows in a ZoomInfo Audience change.

Overview

A ZoomInfo Audience trigger starts an agent team automatically when a row in one of your Audiences is added, updated, or deleted. For example, you can research every new company that lands in a target account Audience, or alert an owner when a tracked field changes.

This is available when your organization has it turned on. When it is off, the Zoominfo Audiences tab in the trigger picker is unavailable and its triggers do not appear. If you need these triggers, contact your ZoomInfo account team.

Three triggers are available:

  • New Audience Row: Triggers when a new row is added to your ZoomInfo Audience.
  • Audience Row Updated: Triggers when an existing row in your ZoomInfo Audience is updated.
  • Audience Row Deleted: Triggers when a row is deleted from your ZoomInfo Audience.

Set Up an Audience Trigger

  1. Open the agent team in the builder and click its trigger on the canvas (a trigger that has not been set yet reads Select trigger).
  2. In the Select a trigger panel, click the Zoominfo Audiences tab, or type a name in the Search triggers box.
  3. Click New Audience Row, Audience Row Updated, or Audience Row Deleted.
  4. On the Filters tab, select the Audience in Audience.
  5. Select the sheet in Sheet, if the field appears.
  6. If you chose Audience Row Updated, select the field to watch in Updated Field, and optionally set an operator and value to narrow which updates start a run.
  7. Click the Throttling tab to limit how often the trigger runs (e.g., once per 24 hours), and optionally choose a field in Limit runs by field to avoid duplicate runs for the same record.
  8. Click the Data tab to review the Audience columns that are passed to every agent in your team on runs this trigger starts, so they do not have to query for them.
  9. Save the agent team.

Check the Trigger from the Canvas

Once the trigger is set up, a second line under it on the canvas and in the step list shows how many fields it passes to your agents (for example "5 fields") and, when throttling is set, a throttle marker such as "Throttled · every 24 hrs".

  1. Click the field count to open the trigger panel on the Data tab.
  2. Click the throttle marker to open the trigger panel on the Throttling tab.

On an agent team you can only view, these two items are shown as plain text and do not open the panel.

Things to Know

  • You can't change the Audience or the sheet after the trigger is created. To use a different Audience, set up the trigger again.
  • Audience Row Updated needs the selected sheet to be set up for automatic refresh. If it isn't, the panel shows a warning; configure the refresh on the Audiences page.
  • If the Audience used by the trigger is no longer available, the panel asks you to set a new one.
  • Choosing a different trigger resets the current trigger's settings. GTM One asks you to confirm in the Change Trigger dialog; click Proceed to continue.
  • If you have view-only access to the agent team, the trigger panel does not open. Contact your ZoomInfo admin for edit access.

If you see an error

  • "Audience is required" The trigger has no Audience yet. Select one in Audience on the Filters tab.
  • "Sheet is required" The trigger has no sheet yet. Select one in Sheet.
  • "Updated Field is required when trigger type is 'Updated'" Audience Row Updated needs a field to watch. Select one in Updated Field.
  • "Updated Value is required when Updated Operator is provided" You chose an operator without a value. Enter a value, or clear the operator.
  • "The previous Audience is no longer available. Please set a new one." The Audience the trigger used was removed or you can no longer reach it. Select a different Audience.
  • "Audience sheet selected is not yet configured for auto refresh. Please configure in Audiences page" Audience Row Updated only fires when the sheet refreshes on its own. Set up an automatic refresh for the sheet, as described in How to Automate an Audience Refresh.
  • "No Audience configured for this trigger." The Data tab has no Audience to list columns from. Select an Audience on the Filters tab first.
