Overview

Describe the person you want to reach and get back a ranked list of real people who fit. Search Contacts queries more than 600 million contact records, filtering by title, seniority, function, company, and location, so a vague persona description becomes a concrete list of names. Searching costs nothing. Spend credits only on the people you actually plan to contact.

What You'll Get

A ranked list of matching contacts. Each result carries:

Email addresses and phone numbers are not part of search results. Pass the contact IDs to Enrich Contacts to retrieve those.

Best For

  • Building a prospecting list around a persona
  • Mapping a buying committee at a target account
  • Sizing how many people match a role profile
  • Finding the right entry point into a new account

Looking for a named individual rather than a persona? Use Contact Research. To get recommendations on who to approach first at an account, use Find Recommended Contacts.

How It Works

ZoomInfo Data

Common filters include:

  • Job title or function
  • Management level, from C-suite through manager
  • Company name or domain
  • Location
  • Industry

Technical Details

Credits

Free. Search Contacts consumes no credits. Contact detail is where cost begins, so search widely and enrich only the people you plan to contact. See Credits & Billing.

Automatic Tool Selection

The AI reaches for Search Contacts when you describe a target persona rather than name a person. It often chains: Lookup to resolve filter values, Search Contacts to find matches, then Enrich Contacts when you need contact details.

Example Prompts

"Find VP-level sales leaders at companies in our target account list."

"Who are the IT decision-makers at Acme Corp?"

"Show me SDRs and BDRs at Series B SaaS companies in California."

"Map the finance buying committee at these five accounts."
