Learn how to approve or deny requests from people who need access to your Audiences.

Overview

When someone who does not own an Audience shares, or asks to open, a GTM App built on it, the Audience's owner receives an access request. The owner reviews each request on the Audience access requests page and decides whether to approve it.

This is available when your organization has it turned on. If you do not see an Access Requests button on the Audiences page, ask your admin whether it is turned on for your organization.

Review a request

  1. In the left navigation panel, click Audiences.
  2. Click Access Requests in the top-right corner of the page, next to View Templates. A count shows on the button when requests are waiting.
  3. On the Audience access requests page, read each pending request. A row shows who wants to see the Audience ("Wants to see"), and, when it applies, who shared it.
  4. If the row offers Access to give, choose Viewer or Editor.
  5. Click Approve to give the person access, or click Deny to refuse the request.
  6. To change your mind, click Undo on the row. The row shows "Undoing…" until the earlier decision is reversed.

You can also review requests from one Audience. Open an Audience you own, click the arrow beside Share (More options for Share) in its header, and click Access Requests. A dot on the arrow shows that requests are waiting. A window titled "Access requests" lists the requests for that Audience, and its footer reads "Approving shares this Audience with them in the access you choose."

The page lists only requests for Audiences you own. After you decide, the row shows an Approved or Denied tag.

If you open the link in an owner notification email, the page opens with that one request marked. Click Show All Requests to see every pending request.

After you approve a request

Approving a request shares the Audience with the person. The row can show one of two notes while that happens:

  • "Asked the Audience's owner to share it with them." The Audience is owned by someone else, so a share request was sent to that owner.
  • "Couldn't share the app's Audience with them." The share did not go through. Click Retry on the row to try again.

If you see an error

  • "No pending requests" together with "When someone needs access to one of your Audiences, the request shows up here." Nobody is waiting on you. No action is needed.
  • "Couldn't load access requests" followed by "Something went wrong on our side. Try again in a moment." The page could not load your requests. Wait a moment, then try again. If it keeps happening, contact ZoomInfo support.
  • "Couldn't load this Audience's requests. Close and try again." The window for one Audience did not load. Close it and open it again.
  • "This Audience's requests aren't available" followed by "The Audience may have been removed, or it may no longer be yours." The link you opened points to an Audience you do not own. Click Show All Requests to see the requests you can act on.
  • "Approving is unavailable because you do not own the underlying Audience." Only the owner of the Audience can approve. Ask the owner to approve the request.
  • "Approving is unavailable because this app's Audience couldn't be checked. Reload the page to try again." Reload the page, then try Approve again.
  • "Couldn't save your decision. Please try again." The approval or denial did not save. Click Approve or Deny again.
  • "Couldn't undo your decision. Please try again." The undo did not go through. Click Undo again.
  • "This request changed or was already decided. The list now shows the latest." Someone else decided the request first. Check the row for the current result.
