Learn how to fix problems when you edit, delete or run an audience's scheduled refresh.

Overview

An automation refreshes an audience on a schedule. While a refresh is running, GTM One protects it from being changed or started a second time. When a rule is broken, the action is refused and the automation stays as it was.

Find the message or symptom that matches what you see, and follow the steps under it.

You cannot edit, delete or run an automation because it is running

  1. Open the Automations tab on the Audiences page and click the automation's row. The Run History window lists its runs.
  2. Wait for the current run to finish. Its status then changes from running.
  3. Edit, delete or run the automation again.

If you want to stop it from running on schedule in the meantime, wait until the run ends, then use Disable in the row menu.

An automation cannot be found

  1. Refresh the Automations tab.
  2. If the automation is still missing, check that the audience still exists and that you can open it. Automations show only for audiences you can reach.
  3. If the audience was deleted, create the automation on an audience that exists (see How to Automate an Audience Refresh in GTM One).

A run you opened is not in the history

  1. Open the run history of the automation again.
  2. Pick one of the runs it lists. A run that no longer appears there cannot be opened.

An audience already has an automation

An audience holds one refresh setup.

  1. Open the Automations tab and find the audience's automation.
  2. Use Edit in the row menu to change it instead of creating a second one.

Import cannot be turned on for a seller's copy

A seller's copy follows the original audience, so it does not import records of its own.

  1. Open the original audience.
  2. Set the import criteria there, then sync the copies (see How to sync a routed audience to sellers' copies in GTM One).

If you see an error

  • "Automation is already running". A refresh of this audience is in progress. Wait for it to finish, then edit, delete or run it again.
  • "Automation not found". The automation was deleted, or you cannot reach its audience. Refresh the Automations tab.
  • "Automation run not found". The run is no longer in the history. Open the run history again.
  • "RefreshJobConfig for workbookId" followed by an id and "already exists". The audience already has an automation. Edit it instead.
  • "Import is not allowed to be enabled for ACTIVATED_AUDIENCE workbooks". The audience is a seller's copy. Set import criteria in the original audience.
  • "Workbook with workbookId" followed by an id, "not found for refreshConfig" and an id. The audience for this automation no longer exists. Delete the automation or build the audience again.
