Overview
Help is a chat that opens over the page you are on. It answers questions about GTM One, such as how to rename an Audience or export records, using the numbered steps in the help articles. It only reads and answers: it does not see your records and does not change anything in GTM One.
Before you start
- The Help row is in your user menu. Open your user menu. If you do not see Help and support, your organization has not turned the Help row on, and there is nothing to click. Ask your ZoomInfo admin.
- The Help chat is turned on for your organization. Click Help and support. If a chat opens with the placeholder "Ask how to do something in this product", it is on. If a Support and resources menu opens instead (Chat with us, Help center, Contact sales), your organization has the row but not the Help chat yet; use those options, or ask your ZoomInfo admin.
- You are signed in with the full app. The row is hidden in the restricted view that offers only Sign Out.
- Whether you can do the steps Help gives you depends on your role. Help answers with the steps; GTM One still decides what you may do. See Overview of permissions in GTM One.
Steps
- Open your user menu and click Help and support. The chat opens over the page with the placeholder "Ask how to do something in this product".
- Type your question in a few plain words, for example "how do I rename an audience?", and send it.
- Read the answer. For a how-to question it starts with the first step, keeps the labels exactly as GTM One shows them, and lists any limit or caveat the article states after the steps.
- Check the last line, "Sources:", which lists the titles of the articles the answer came from. Search for a title in the help center when you want the full article.
- If the answer is not the one you wanted, ask again with different words or add the name of the feature. If your question could mean two things, Help asks one short question back; answer it.
Good to know
- Each time you click Help and support, a new conversation starts. Your earlier Help conversation is not resumed, so copy anything you want to keep first.
- Help answers only from the help articles. It does not add steps from memory, so a question the articles do not cover gets a reply that it has no information, not a guess.
- Help only describes features that are available to you. If a feature is not turned on for your organization, Help says it is not available rather than describing it.
- Help is for questions about GTM One. For anything else it says what it can help with.
- When Help adds a sentence that the answer "may describe a slightly different build" than yours, a small difference between the article and your screen is possible. Trust what your screen shows.
If you see an error
- "I don't have information on that. Try rephrasing the question, or contact support and they can help." No help article matched. Rephrase with the feature's name, or contact support. The wording of this reply can vary a little.
- "That feature isn't available in your environment." The feature exists but is not turned on for you or not in your version yet. Ask your ZoomInfo admin. The wording can vary a little.
