Overview
When you ask Chat for something structured, such as an account plan, a research brief or a table of companies, the answer opens as a document on the canvas beside the conversation. You can watch it fill in while Chat writes it. This article covers what you see on the canvas and what you can click. For download, print and sharing, see How to Use Chat in GTM One and Overview of Documents in GTM One.
Before you start
- You need access to Chat. Whether you can share or download a document depends on your role; ask your ZoomInfo admin if a control is missing.
- Asking Chat to change a document creates a new version. Each version stays in the conversation as its own card, so nothing you opened earlier is lost.
Watch a document build
- Ask Chat for a document in the box at the bottom of the conversation, and press Enter.
- Watch the canvas. It shows "Generating artifact…" until the first section is ready, then fills in section by section. Charts show a loading placeholder until their data is complete.
- Wait for Chat's answer to finish before clicking buttons inside the document.
The canvas shows one document at a time. While Chat is building a new one, you see the new one. Afterwards, you see the one you opened.
Open an earlier version
- In the conversation, find the document card for the version you want.
- Click the card. The canvas switches to that version.
Sort a table
- Click a column heading in a table on the canvas. The rows sort from lowest to highest, or A to Z.
- Click the same heading again to reverse the order.
- Click it a third time to restore the order Chat gave the rows.
Sorting happens on your screen only and does not change the document. Number columns sort by size rather than alphabetically, so "$1.2M" counts as larger than "$900K". Long tables show roughly the 50 most relevant rows, and a note under the table says how many more exist (e.g., "+ 1,278 more"). Ask Chat to narrow or rebuild the table if you need a different set.
Use links and buttons in a document
- To open a contact's details, click the icon for email, call, View on ZoomInfo or LinkedIn on a contact card. Links open in a new browser tab.
- To read a long section, click its heading to expand it, and click again to collapse it.
- To use a button that asks Chat to do something, wait until Chat has finished answering, then click it. Chat replies in the conversation.
If you click such a button while Chat is still answering, nothing happens and the click is not saved. Click it again once the answer is complete.
Read a chart
- Find the chart title above the plot and the legend below it. The legend lists each series or slice in the same color order as the plot.
- For long names, the chart wraps or shortens the label. For the exact value, check the label on the bar, point or slice, or ask Chat for a table.
Small pie slices (under 6% of the total) have no percentage on the slice. The legend still shows their value and share. Crowded value labels are moved or hidden, so ask for a table when you need every number.
Demo mode
When Demo mode is on, sensitive values in a document are masked and charts are blurred. Turn Demo mode off to see them.
If you see an error
- "This section couldn't be displayed." Chat sent a part of the document that GTM One cannot draw. Ask Chat in the same conversation to rebuild the document.
- "This chart's data did not finish loading." The chart's data was incomplete when Chat finished. Ask Chat to rebuild the chart, or to give the numbers as a table.
