Troubleshooting the Data Sharing Validation Window in the Admin Portal

Learn why the Data Sharing Validation window appears and how to check your choice.
Overview
The Data Sharing Validation window opens for an admin the first time they sign in to the Admin Portal. It offers Acknowledge and Cancel. The Admin Portal remembers your answer in your browser, so the window opens again only when that saved answer is gone or when you use another browser. For what each button does, see How to Manage Data Sharing Settings as an Admin.
The window opens again
- Check whether you cleared your browser's cookies or switched to another browser or device. The saved answer is stored in the browser, so the window can open again after either.
- Click Acknowledge to accept or Cancel to decline. The window closes and stays closed in that browser.
- Open Data Sharing in the Admin Portal and confirm that your organization's preferences are what you intend.
You do not see the window
Only admins see the window, and only on their first sign-in. Other users never see it, and an admin who has already answered in the same browser does not see it again. To review the choice later, open Data Sharing in the Admin Portal.
Your choice did not change the preference
Your answer sets your organization's web visitor IP and domain analysis preference: Acknowledge turns it on and Cancel turns it off. The window closes and remembers your answer even when the preference could not be saved, and it shows no message in that case.
- Open Data Sharing in the Admin Portal and check the preference.
- If it is not what you chose, change it there.
- If the change is refused or the page does not load, try again in a few minutes. Contact your ZoomInfo account team if it keeps failing.
