Overview

You can share an app or widget you own once it is published. People you share with can open and use it, but only the owner can edit it. A published app or widget starts private to you.

An app runs on an audience, so sharing an app also affects who can see that audience's data. Widgets do not run on an audience.

Share an app or widget

  1. In the left navigation panel, click Apps.
  2. Point to the app's card, then click the three dots icon in the top-right corner of the card's image.
  3. Click Share.
  4. Under the search box, search for and select each person you want to add. Each person must be a ZoomInfo user.
  5. Under General access, select Private to share only with the people you added, or Everyone in org to let anyone in your organization who is signed in to ZoomInfo open it.
  6. If the dialog asks about the audience, select the checkbox that starts "Yes, share the" and ends "audience too". The dialog explains that sharing the app also gives people access to that audience data.
  7. Click Share.

You can also open Share from the app itself or from the " is live" screen that appears after you publish. In the builder, open the Published menu and choose Sharing & access.

People you share with see the app on the Shared with me tab of the Apps page and on their Home page. They receive an email with the subject " shared an app with you" (or "shared a Widget with you" for a widget). The email's heading reads " shared a GTM One app with you:", followed by a card labelled "Custom GTM One app" with the app's name and thumbnail, and an Open in GTM One button that opens it. For a widget, the card is labelled "Custom GTM One Widget" and the email says they can add it to their own profile layouts. The footer's Unsubscribe link opens the notification settings, where a person can turn off these emails.

Change or remove access

  1. Open the Share dialog for the app.
  2. Under People with access, find the person. The owner is labeled Owner.
  3. Click Remove beside the person.
  4. Change General access back to Private if you no longer want the whole organization to have it.
  5. Click Share to save.

Click Copy link in the Share dialog to copy the app's link. People who open it still need access. If the app's audience is not shared with them, the link warns "Recipients won't have access to the underlying audience data."

When sharing is unavailable

By default you can share an app only when you own the audience it runs on, or that audience is shared with your whole organization. Otherwise the Share option is unavailable and explains: "Sharing is unavailable because you do not own the underlying Audience and it isn't shared with your organization."

When your organization has audience sharing turned on, you can share an app on an audience you do not own. In that case GTM One asks the audience's owner to share it, and the owner reviews the request.

If you see an error

• "Failed to load sharing options. Close and try again." The app's sharing details did not load. Close the dialog and open Share again.
  • "Failed to load access data. Refresh to try again." The list of people with access did not load. Refresh the page and open Share again.
  • "Confirm sharing the audience to continue". The Share button stays unavailable until you select the "Yes, share the ... audience too" checkbox.
