Troubleshooting app and widget generation and publishing in GTM One
Learn what to do when the builder cannot generate a change or when publishing an app or widget does not finish.
Learn what to do when the builder cannot generate a change or when publishing an app or widget does not finish.
Overview
When you describe an app or widget in the builder, GTM One generates it and shows the result in a preview. Publishing then makes the version available to the people it is shared with. Either step can stop short. The builder says which one: a generation problem leaves your last working preview in place, and a publishing problem leaves the preview live while the published version stays as it was.
Find the message you see below and follow the steps under it.
A generation did not work
You see Generation failed with "Open the builder to retry with an updated prompt." on an app that has no working preview yet. If the app already had a working preview, you see the label "Couldn’t apply your last change" over it instead. The preview is the previous working version, so your last change did not land.
- Open the app in the builder.
- Send a new message that asks for a smaller or clearer change. A message is limited to 8 KB of text, so split a long brief into several messages.
- Wait for the preview to update before sending the next message. Only one change is built at a time for an app, so a message sent while another is still being built is refused.
- If the same change fails again, ask for it in several smaller steps, or describe the result you want differently.
A message did not send
You see "Failed to send. Try again." under your message.
- Check your connection. If your session has expired, refresh the page and sign in again.
- Send the message again once any generation that is still running has finished.
- If it keeps failing, shorten the message (the limit is 8 KB) and try again.
Publishing did not finish
You see Publishing didn’t finish with "Your preview is live. Publishing to the workspace didn’t finish — use Retry publish to try again." In the builder the label reads "Publishing didn’t finish — your preview is live".
This happens when the published copy of the app is not ready within about 15 minutes. It is not a generation failure. The preview keeps working, and the version people already use is unchanged.
- Click Retry publish on the status card.
- Wait for the status to change from publishing to published. A large app can take several minutes to build.
- If publishing fails again, open the builder, ask for a small change (e.g., a text change) so a fresh version is built, and publish again.
- If it still does not finish, contact your ZoomInfo account team and tell them the app's name and the time of the attempt.
A publish is refused with a message
When you click Publish or Publish changes, GTM One may show one of these messages. Each one clears with a retry or a new generation.
- For "Another deploy is already in progress. Try again in a moment.", wait a minute and publish again. Only one build can run for an app at a time.
- For "This version isn't ready to publish yet.", wait for the generation to finish, then publish again.
- For "v0's last draft can't be published — ask it to add an app/page.tsx route component and try again.", send a message in the builder asking the builder to add the app's main page, wait for the new version, and publish again.
An app or widget cannot be recovered
You see "This app can’t be recovered" (or "This widget can’t be recovered") with "The underlying project no longer exists. Start over to build a new one — we’ll clean up the broken app for you."
- Click the start-over button, which reads "Start a new app" (or "Start a new widget").
- Describe what you want again. Copy your earlier prompts from the chat if you need them.
A widget cannot be started
You see "Couldn't start this widget" with "The widget could not be created. Try again."
- Click Try again.
- If it fails again, go back, choose the widget type again and restart.
Panels in the builder do not load
- "Failed to load files. Please try again." appears in the Code view. Reload the page and open the Code view again.
- "Couldn’t load versions" appears in the Versions drawer. Click Try again.
If you see an error
- "Generation failed". The builder could not produce the app or the change. Open the builder and send a clearer, smaller request.
- "Couldn’t apply your last change". The preview shows the previous version. Ask for the change again in smaller steps.
- "Failed to send. Try again." The message did not reach the builder. Check your sign-in and send it again.
- "Publishing didn’t finish". The published copy was not ready in time. Click Retry publish.
- "Another deploy is already in progress. Try again in a moment." A build is already running for this app. Wait and publish again.
- "This version isn't ready to publish yet." The version is still being generated or is not complete. Wait for the generation to finish.
- "This app can’t be recovered". The project behind the app no longer exists. Start a new app.
- "Couldn't start this widget". The widget could not be created. Click Try again.
