Overview
An organization can allow Salesforce as more than one connection, for example a production connection and a sandbox connection. Each one can have its own shared connection. When there is more than one for the same CRM, exports go through the default.
Only one connection per CRM is the default at a time. When you make one the default, the one that was the default stops being the default.
Before you start
- Sign in to the Admin Portal as an admin. Choosing the default is refused for a user who is not an admin.
- Allow each connection for your organization and turn on its shared connection. See How to Set Up a Shared CRM Connection for Your Team as an Admin.
How to set the default connection
- Sign in to the Admin Portal.
- Open the Integrations area and select the CRM.
- Find the connection you want to use for exports, for example the production connection.
- Choose to make it the default.
- Ask users to run their next export. It goes through the new default.
The change applies to every user in your organization, not only to you. It can take a short while for everyone's exports to pick up the new default.
If you choose a connection that has no shared connection set up, the change is refused. Set up the shared connection for it first, then try again.
