Learn how to connect an app to GTM One, sign in again when a connection stops working, and disconnect it.

Overview

The Integrations page in Settings lists the apps your organization allows you to connect, such as a CRM, a sales engagement tool or a meeting app. Cards under Your integrations are yours to connect and disconnect. Cards under Managed by your admin were set up for your whole team, so they show Locked instead of a Connect button. For the CRM-specific steps and what a CRM connection does for export, see How to Connect Your CRM to GTM One.

Before you start

  • Your organization's admin decides which integrations appear. If the page shows "No integrations found", ask your admin to allow the integrations you need. See How to Allow and Approve Integrations for Your Organization.
  • Allow pop-ups for GTM One in your browser. Most integrations sign you in through a small window that opens beside the page.
  • Have the sign-in details for the app ready. Some apps ask for an extra detail first (e.g., a Salesforce environment, a Dynamics Organization Url or an API key).

How to connect an integration

  1. In the lower-left corner of the left navigation panel, click your name or profile initial.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. In the Settings navigation, click Integrations.
  4. Under Your integrations, find the card for the app. Type the app name in the Search integrations box to find it faster, or select Connected first to list connected apps at the top.
  5. On the card, click Connect.
  6. Complete the extra step the app asks for, if any. See the section on what each app asks for below.
  7. Sign in to the app in the window that opens.

When the connection works, a message says the app "is connected successfully" and its card shows Connected.

What each app asks for

  • Salesforce and Pardot: The Integrate Your Account window asks you to "Select an environment". Choose Production or Sandbox, then click Connect.
  • Pardot: After you choose the environment, enter your Business Unit ID. It must start with 0Uv and be 18 characters long.
  • Microsoft Dynamics: Enter your Organization Url. It must start with http:// or https://.
  • Apps that sign in with a user name and password or another set of details: A Connect to window lists the fields the app needs. Fill them in and click Connect.
  • Apps that use an API key: Paste your key into the API key box and click Connect.
  • All other apps: You go straight to the app's own sign-in window.

How to reconnect an integration

Reconnect when GTM One tells you it could not use your connection, for example when an export finds that your CRM is no longer signed in.

  1. When the Reconnect window opens, read the app name in its title.
  2. Click Reconnect. Your current connection is replaced.
  3. Sign in to the app again in the window that opens.

You can also open the same prompt from a link that GTM One gives you when an export fails because of the connection. If you click Cancel, your current connection stays as it was.

How to disconnect an integration

  1. Open Settings, then Integrations.
  2. Under Your integrations, find the connected card.
  3. Click Disconnect.
  4. For Slack and Microsoft Teams, read the confirmation and click Disconnect again. Your organization can no longer use that app as a notification channel.

A message says the app "disconnected successfully". Cards under Managed by your admin have no Disconnect button for you. Your admin disconnects them.

If you see an error

  • "There was an error while connecting to" followed by the app name. The sign-in window reported a problem, and its own message follows when it gave one. Click Connect and sign in again, and check the details you entered.
  • "Failed to connect. Please check your details and try again." The details you entered for an app that asks for several fields were refused. Check each field and click Connect again.
  • "Failed to connect. Please check your API key and try again." The API key was refused. Copy the key again from the app and click Connect.
  • "The url must start with http:// or https://" The Organization Url is missing its scheme. Add it and try again.
  • "The business unit id must start with 0Uv" or "The business unit id must be 18 characters long". The Business Unit ID is not in the Pardot format. Copy it again from Pardot.
  • "Failed to load the fields required to connect. Please try again." The list of details the app needs did not load. Close the window, click Connect and try again.
  • "Failed to disconnect from" followed by the app name. The app was not disconnected. Click Disconnect again.
  • "is managed by your admin. Contact your admin to connect it." You followed a link to an integration that your admin manages. Ask your admin to connect it.

If the sign-in window never opens, your browser blocked the pop-up. GTM One shows steps for your browser. Allow pop-ups, then click Connect again.
