Overview
GTM Apps are custom applications you build in GTM One by describing what you want in a conversation. You tell the GTM App builder what the GTM App should do, review what it creates, and keep refining it through chat until it fits your workflow. You do not need to write code.
Every GTM App is built on top of an Audience. The Audience acts as the GTM App's data, so the records and columns in that Audience are what the GTM App displays and works with. If you have not built an Audience yet, start there (see How to Build an Audience in GTM One).
What You Can Build
GTM Apps are useful for data visualization and workflow tooling on top of an Audience. Common examples include:
- A fit-scoring prioritization view for sellers, with filtering by owner and by fit tier, a custom positioning narrative for each account, and recommended contacts
- A segment or heat map view of the same Audience data, cut by industry or employee range
How GTM Apps Are Built
When you create a GTM App, you first choose the Audience it runs on. The dialog asks What should this app run on?, and once you pick an Audience, the GTM App builder opens so you can describe the GTM App in chat. You can keep iterating with the builder until the GTM App looks and works the way you want.
Sharing and Distributing GTM Apps
Once a GTM App is published, you can make it easy for others to find:
- Share a GTM App you own with other users in your organization. You can share a GTM App when you own the Audience it runs on, or when that Audience is shared with your whole organization. If neither holds, Share may be unavailable and read "Sharing is unavailable because you do not own the underlying Audience and it isn't shared with your organization." See How to share a GTM App or widget in GTM One for the full rule.
- Add to sidebar pins a published GTM App to your navigation so you can open it in one click.
- GTM Apps that are shared with you appear in the Apps panel on your Home page and in the Shared with me tab of the Apps page.
GTM Apps are shared, not assigned. The people you share a GTM App with find it on their Home page and in the Shared with me tab.
GTM Apps stay inside your organization's GTM One tenant. They cannot be published to the internet.
Open GTM Apps
- In the left navigation panel, click Apps.
- Click a tab at the top of the page to filter the list: All, My apps, or Shared with me. When widgets are enabled for your organization, a Widgets tab lists your widgets.
- Click a GTM App card to open the GTM App.
To start a new GTM App, click Create in the top-right corner of the Apps page. For details on searching, sorting, and managing the GTM Apps on this page, see How to Create and Manage a GTM App in GTM One.
Limitations
Keep these current limitations in mind when planning a GTM App:
- You cannot take actions (e.g., updating records or triggering workflows) from inside a GTM App. GTM Apps are for viewing and working with Audience data.
- GTM Apps cannot be saved as templates.
- Only the owner of a GTM App can edit it. Users the GTM App is shared with can open and use it, but cannot change it.
If you need a GTM App capability that is not listed here, contact your ZoomInfo admin or account team.
