How to Run an Advanced Search in GTM One
Learn how to find contacts, companies, and scoops using Advanced Search.
Learn how to find contacts, companies, and scoops using Advanced Search.
Overview
Advanced Search finds contacts, companies, and scoops by narrowing a list with filters. There is no search button. Results appear as soon as you set a filter and refresh every time you change one.
Intent is part of Advanced Search rather than a separate tab. You can filter by intent, add intent topics as a column in your company results, and limit any search to the companies you follow with a quick filter.
Until you set at least one filter, Advanced Search shows a starting view instead of results. The starting view includes Saved searches, Recent searches, Exports & Uploads (when you have uploaded lists), and Recently viewed.
Choose What to Search For
Advanced Search opens on the Contacts tab. Your filters stay applied when you switch tabs.
- In the left navigation panel, click Advanced Search.
- Above the results, click the Contacts, Companies, or Scoops tab.
Apply Filters
Filters live in the Filters panel on the left side of the page.
- In the Filters panel, type a filter name or value in the Search filters or values box.
- Select a suggestion from the list to add that filter.
- To browse every filter, click Show All Filters at the bottom of the Filters panel.
- Click a category on the left of the All Filters view (e.g., Companies or Sales Signals).
- Set the values you want for each filter.
- Click Close to return to the Filters panel.
Some filters cannot start a search on their own (e.g., filters that only exclude values). Add another filter alongside them to see results.
Use Quick Filters
Quick filters are one-click chips at the top of the Filters panel, under Quick Filters. Their labels change slightly depending on the tab you are on.
- In the Filters panel, click a chip under Quick Filters.
The available quick filters are:
- My Followed Companies: Shows only companies you follow (your target accounts). On the Contacts tab this chip is In my Followed Companies, and on the Scoops tab it is From my Followed Companies.
- With Contacts not in my CRM: On the Companies and Scoops tabs, shows companies whose contacts do not exist in Salesforce. On the Contacts tab this chip is Not in my CRM and shows contacts that do not exist in Salesforce.
- High Intent: Shows companies actively researching your organization's default intent topic cluster. On the Contacts or Scoops tab, this chip switches you to the Companies tab.
- Have Buying Group: Shows companies with key decision makers you can engage with. On the Contacts tab this chip is In my Buying Group, and on the Scoops tab it is With Buying Group. This chip only appears if your account has access to buying groups.
- Have Likely to Engage Contacts: Shows companies with contacts likely to answer calls or reply to emails. On the Contacts tab this chip is Likely to Engage, and on the Scoops tab it is With Likely to Engage Contacts.
Filter by Intent
The Intent filter helps you find companies researching specific topics.
- In the Filters panel, type "Intent" in the Search filters or values box and select the Intent filter, or click Show All Filters and then click Sales Signals.
- Select the intent topics you want in the Intent filter.
- Click the Companies tab to review intent in your results.
On the Companies tab, results include an Intent column. After you select intent topics, an Intent Topics column also appears so you can see which of those topics each company is researching. Click a cell in the Intent Topics column to open that company's profile.
Review Your Results
- Check the match count shown on the active tab (e.g., Companies (1,250)).
- To change the order of results, click Sort above the results and choose an option.
- To narrow the rows already loaded, type in the search box above the results (e.g., Search contacts in this view...).
The match count updates every time you change a filter.
Open a Profile
- In the results, click a contact name or company name to open the profile in a side panel.
- To move to the next or previous record, click the up or down arrow in the side panel.
Record arrows are not available on the Scoops tab. For more on what a profile shows, see Overview of Company Profiles in GTM One.
Check a Record in Your CRM
When your CRM is connected, the CRM columns in the Contacts and Companies results show an icon for each CRM (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics 365) that has the record. Point at the icon to see "Exists in" followed by the CRM name.
- In the results, click the CRM icon on the row you want to check.
- Click View CRM details to open the profile panel at its CRM section, or click Open in followed by the CRM name (e.g., Open in Salesforce) to open the record in that CRM.
- If the record matches more than one CRM record, a side panel lists the matched CRM records. Choose the one you want to open.
While GTM One looks up the record, a spinner replaces the icon. If a browser blocks the new tab, open the record from the side panel instead.
Adjust or Clear Filters
- At the top of the Filters panel, click the filter count button to see the filters currently applied.
- In the Active Filters list, remove any filter you no longer want.
- To start over, click Clear All at the top of the Filters panel.
