Learn how to fix common upload, mapping, and processing issues in ListMatch.

Overview

ListMatch matches your own company or contact lists against ZoomInfo data. You start it from the Upload Lists dialog in Advanced Search, and matched lists appear on the Exports & Uploads tab of My Lists & Searches. For the full upload procedure, see How to Use ListMatch in GTM One.

The sections below are organized by the message or symptom you see, in the order you move through the Upload Lists dialog. If your issue isn't listed, or the steps don't resolve it, contact ZoomInfo support.

Check a List's Status

Many issues are easiest to confirm by checking the list on the Exports & Uploads tab.

  1. In Advanced Search, click My Lists & Searches in the top-right corner of the page.
  2. Click Open lists.
  3. Type the list name in the Search exports & uploads box.
  4. Press Enter.
  5. Review the Status column for the list.

Issues on the Input List Step

"Something went wrong uploading this file. Please try again."

This message appears in the upload area (Upload CSV) or below the text box (Text Input) when your records couldn't be uploaded.

  1. Check that your file is saved as a .csv file and is no larger than 50MB, the limit shown in the upload area.
  2. Click Choose a different file in the upload area and select your .csv file again, or, for Text Input, edit the pasted records and click outside the text box to upload them again.

If the message appears again, contact ZoomInfo support.

The Next Button Is Unavailable

The Next button stays unavailable until your records are ready. Check the following:

  • Upload CSV: Wait until the upload area no longer shows "Uploading…". If an upload error appears, follow the steps in the section above.
  • Text Input: Make sure the text box contains at least one record.
  • My Lists: Make sure a list is selected in the Choose an existing list dropdown.

Issues on the List Name and Actions Step

A Message Appears When You Click Next

When you click Next, ZoomInfo checks whether the list name can be used. If it can't (e.g., another list already uses the name), a message appears at the bottom of the dialog, such as "That file name is not available. Rename it and retry."

  1. Type a new name in the List Name field.
  2. Click Next.

A list name must be at least three characters and can contain only letters, numbers, spaces, and the special characters _ - # and commas.

"List name can only contain letters, numbers and the following special characters: '_', '-', '#', ','"

This message, or "List name should be a minimum of 3 characters", appears when you click Submit for the Preview File option and the name doesn't meet the naming rules.

  1. Edit the List Name so it uses only allowed characters and is at least three characters long.
  2. Click Submit.

"Lists over 2,500 records can't be followed."

This note appears under the Follow these companies action, and the action is unavailable, when your company list has more than 2,500 records. You can still submit the list without this action. To follow the companies from your list, upload a list with 2,500 records or fewer.

Issues on the Mapping Step

"Could not load ZoomInfo fields for this list type."

The Mapping step couldn't load the ZoomInfo fields to map your columns to.

  1. Click Cancel to close the dialog.
  2. Click Upload lists to start the upload again.

If the message appears again, contact ZoomInfo support.

A Column Is Missing from the My File Fields Dropdown

Each column in your file can be mapped to only one ZoomInfo field. A column already selected for another field doesn't appear in the other dropdowns.

  1. In the My File Fields dropdown of the field currently using the column, select Select a Field to clear it.
  2. In the My File Fields dropdown of the field you want, select the column.

"The selected field mapping is invalid. Please review your selections."

This message appears after you click Submit when ZoomInfo can't accept the field mapping.

  1. Review each field in the Fields column and the column selected for it in the My File Fields dropdown.
  2. Change any selection that doesn't match the data in that column.
  3. Click Submit.

"Uploading a CSV file is required to create a list right now."

This note appears and the Submit button is unavailable when the dialog can't create the list yet (e.g., the upload of your records didn't finish, or the List Name field is empty).

  1. Click Back to return to the List name and actions step.
  2. Confirm the List Name field contains a name.
  3. Click Back to return to the Input List step.
  4. Select Upload CSV and add your records as a .csv file.
  5. Click Next until you reach the Mapping step.
  6. Click Submit.

Messages After You Submit

"Processing your list…"

After you submit, the dialog closes and a progress bar shows "Processing your list…" while ZoomInfo matches your records. This is expected. When matching finishes, a "List uploaded" message appears.

While a list is being matched, it shows the Processing status on the Exports & Uploads tab, and its actions menu offers only Rename List. Other actions become available when processing finishes.

"Something went wrong processing your list. Please try again."

This message appears when ZoomInfo couldn't finish processing your list.

  1. Open the Exports & Uploads tab and find the list (see Check a List's Status).
  2. If the list shows the Failed status, click Upload lists and upload the list again.

If the list fails again, contact ZoomInfo support.

Statuses on the Exports & Uploads Tab

The Status column shows where each list stands:

  • Processing: ZoomInfo is still matching the list. Only Rename List is available until it finishes.
  • Failed: The list couldn't be processed. Upload the list again, and contact ZoomInfo support if it fails again.
  • Open in Search: The matched list can be opened in Advanced Search with Open in Company Search or Open in Contact Search from the actions menu.
  • Preview: A match preview file is available. Select Export Match Preview from the actions menu to download it.
  • Redeem: The list can be redeemed. Click the Redeem status, or select Redeem List from the actions menu, to review the details before you confirm.
  • Redeemed or Ready: The list is ready to use from its actions menu.

Export List or Redeem List Is Unavailable

If Export List or Redeem List is unavailable and shows "Your ZoomInfo Admin has disabled CSV and Email exports for your organization", exports are turned off for your organization. Contact your ZoomInfo admin to request access.

Credit Messages When You Redeem a List

When you redeem a list, the Redeem List dialog shows how many credits the list will use before you confirm. Credits come from your monthly credits or from your Bulk Export package, and the dialog tells you which one applies.

"You currently do not have enough credits."

This message appears in the Redeem List dialog when the list needs more credits than your account has. The dialog adds "Please shorten your list, or contact us to get more credits."

  1. Check how many credits you have left.
  2. Shorten your list and upload it again, or click Please Contact Me to ask for more credits.
  3. You can also ask your admin to add or distribute credits.

"This list requires more credits than you have available at this time. Please shorten your list, or contact your administrator to replenish your Bulk Export package."

This message appears when you confirm a redeem and the list is larger than your Bulk Export package has left.

  1. Shorten the list and upload it again.
  2. Ask your admin to replenish your Bulk Export package.

"Your current monthly credit balance is zero and will be replenished next month."

This message appears when your monthly credits are used up.

  1. Wait for the monthly reset.
  2. If your account has Bulk Export credits, use them instead. The dialog then reads "Bulk Credits will be used."
  3. Otherwise, ask your admin for more credits.

For more about credits, see Overview of Credits.

"Failed to load exports and uploads. Please try again."

The Exports & Uploads tab couldn't load your lists.

  1. Refresh the page in your browser.

If the message appears again, contact ZoomInfo support.
