Overview
Call recording is a setting your organization controls. When your organization allows it, a call is recorded from the moment it connects, and the recording controls appear in the dialer. When it does not, there are no recording controls. Live transcription and the post-call summary are also organization settings and show only when they are turned on.
Some calls need the other person's consent to be recorded. When your organization requires consent notices, the dialer shows a notice once per call, after the call connects, for calls to places where consent is required. Recording keeps running while the notice is open. The notice records what you tell ZoomInfo, and it does not stop the recording unless you choose to stop it.
Pause, resume or delete a recording
- Start a call. See How to place a call with the AI Dialer.
- When the call connects, look for Recording under the red recording button at the bottom of the panel.
- Click the recording button to pause. The label changes to Paused. Click it again to resume.
- Click the trash button (Delete recording), labeled Delete, to delete the recording. The label changes to Recording stopped and the recording cannot be started again on this call.
The recording controls are unavailable until the call is connected.
Answer a recording consent notice
- When the "Recording consent required" notice appears on the call, read it. A label next to the title names the region and the kind of consent, such as "California · two-party" or "Canada · all-party". When the region is not known, it says "Two-party consent" or "All-party consent".
- For a place where all parties must consent, the notice asks you to let the person know the call is being recorded. Tell them, then click I've informed followed by their first name. When the contact's name is not known, the button reads I've informed them.
- For international calls and calls to Canada, the notice asks you to ask for permission before recording. Ask the person, then click Consent received.
- To stop recording instead, click Stop recording. The recording is deleted and cannot be restarted on this call.
After you confirm, the notice is replaced by a "Consent recorded" label. For calls to places that need no consent, no notice appears and the call is recorded as accepted automatically.
If you see an error
- The consent notice stays on screen after you click Stop recording. The stop did not go through, so the call is still being recorded. Click Stop recording again.
