How to choose your microphone and speaker for calls

Learn how to pick the microphone and speaker the AI Dialer uses.

Overview

The Sound card on the Dialer Settings page lets you choose which microphone your voice comes in on and which speaker or headset you hear calls through. The list shows the devices your browser can see. Same as System follows your computer's default device.

The card is unavailable until you have chosen a phone number, and the dropdowns are unavailable when no microphone is found. See How to choose your dialer phone number.

Choose your devices

1. Click Settings in the profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
2. Click Dialer in the Settings sidebar.
3. In the Sound card, open Input Source and choose your microphone.
4. Open Output Source and choose your speaker or headset.

Your choice applies to your next call.

If you see an error

• "Sound and Voicemail will be enabled when phone number is reselected" You have no dialer phone number. Choose one on the same page, and the dropdowns turn on.
• The Input Source and Output Source dropdowns are unavailable even though you have a number. Your browser did not find a microphone, or it blocked access to it. Connect a microphone, allow microphone access for the site in your browser, and reload the page.
