Overview
Document analytics shows how the documents your team shares are being read, including who opened them, which companies they reached, and how long viewers spent on them. Engagement is tracked for documents shared with a tracking link (e.g., a link generated on the External tab of the Share dialog, or an artifact shared from chat with Share & Track).
The Analytics page is part of Documents and has its own address, so you can bookmark it or send the link to a colleague. The page shows a time range and an Export button at the top, three totals below the header, and a table you can view by rep, by company, or by document.
Open Document Analytics
- In the left navigation panel, click Documents.
- Click Analytics in the top-right corner of the page.
Anything you typed in the Documents search box carries over to the Analytics page. To return to your documents, click Documents in the breadcrumb trail at the top of the page or use your browser's back button. The gallery opens as you left it.
Choose a Time Range
- In the top-right corner of the Analytics page, click 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or All.
The page opens on 30 days. The range you choose applies to both the totals and the table.
Read the Totals
Three tiles below the header summarize engagement for the selected time range:
- Docs viewed: The number of documents that were viewed.
- Unique viewers: The number of different people who viewed your documents.
- Companies reached: The number of companies whose people viewed your documents.
The totals count every company in the range, not only the rows loaded in the table, so scrolling the table never changes them. A number followed by a plus sign (+) means part of the count could not be retrieved.
Change the Table View
- Next to Pivot by, above the table on the right, click Rep, Company, or Document.
The table opens on Rep. Each view shows these columns:
- Rep: Rep, Shares, Docs shared, Companies, Contacts, Open rate, Avg time, and Downloads.
- Company: Company, Domain, Docs, Unique views, Avg time, and Downloads.
- Document: Document, Opens, Companies, Avg time, and Downloads.
The count above the table on the left shows how many rows have loaded and the time range they cover. More rows load as you scroll to the bottom of the table.
Sort the Table
- Click a column heading to sort the table by that column.
- Click the same column heading again to reverse the order.
A newly selected column sorts highest first. Each view opens sorted highest first on its own column (Shares for Rep, Unique views for Company, and Opens for Document), and switching views returns to that sort.
Export the Table
- Click Export in the top-right corner of the Analytics page.
GTM One downloads a CSV file of the view you are looking at, in the order you have sorted it. The file includes the rows that have loaded in the table, so scroll to the bottom of the table first if you want every row included.
Understand Empty or Missing Values
- A dash in Avg time or Downloads means that figure is not reported for that row. It does not mean the value is zero.
- If there is nothing to show, the page displays No analytics data yet and asks you to share documents to start tracking engagement.
- If the table cannot load, the page displays Something went wrong. Refresh the page to try again.
Tracking Notices for Admins
If your workspace has tracking turned off, admins see a notice above the totals that says No tracking is enabled for your workspace. In this case, engagement is not collected on any document your team shares, and the metrics stay empty. Nothing is broken and no data is on the way. Only a workspace admin can change the tracking mode, so if you are not an admin, contact your ZoomInfo admin.
If GTM One cannot confirm the tracking status, admins see Unable to load tracking status in place of the notice. Click Try again to check again.
