Overview

Coaching is where managers track coaching initiatives, the programs that reps are scored against with scorecards. The Coaching page has two parts. On the left, the Initiatives list lets you switch between Active, Drafts, and Closed initiatives and search by name. On the right, the open initiative shows its scorecards, leaderboard, and criteria.

Scorecards are tied to your team's recorded conversations. To learn more about the calls behind them, see Overview of Meetings in GTM One and How to Use Conversation Analytics in GTM One.

Open the Coaching Dashboard

The Coaching page is not in the left navigation panel. You open it with its page address.

  1. In your browser, go to your GTM One address followed by #/coaching (e.g., gtm.zoominfo.com/#/coaching).

Until you choose an initiative, the right side reads "No initiative selected" and asks you to choose one of your open initiatives. If you have none, it reads "There are currently no active initiatives." If the list cannot be loaded, it reads "Initiatives failed to load."

Find an Initiative

  1. In the Initiatives list, open the Status dropdown and choose Active, Drafts, or Closed. Each option shows how many initiatives it holds, for example "Active (3)".
  2. To narrow the list, type part of an initiative name in the Filter Initiatives box.
  3. Click an initiative to open it.

The list opens on Active, with the newest initiatives first. The footer shows how many initiatives the selected status holds (for example "3 active initiatives"), or reads "Counts unavailable" when the counts could not be loaded. Click Collapse initiatives to fold the list away, and Expand initiatives to bring it back.

Opening a draft takes you back into the new initiative flow instead of showing scores. See Save and Resume a Draft below.

Read an Open Initiative

The header shows the initiative's name and an Active or Closed tag. Under it, a short summary line names the teams and reps it covers (e.g., "All teams" or "No reps"), or reads "No scorecards yet". A Needs attention tag can also appear in the header.

Below the header, a summary shows three figures: Avg score (out of 5), Scorecards, and Reps scored. Three tabs sit under the summary:

  • Scorecards: A table of completed scorecards with the Call, Rep, Score, and Scored columns, newest first, 10 rows at a time. A call with no subject reads "Untitled call".
  • Leaderboard: The reps ranked by average score, with their number of scorecards.
  • Criteria: The scorecard questions with their average score out of 5, highest first. A question can carry a Strongest or Needs coaching tag.

When an initiative has no scorecards yet, the tabs show "No scorecards yet" and "Scores appear here once the first call is graded."

Filter the Scores

  1. Open an initiative that has scorecards.
  2. Next to the tabs, click Team and choose one or more teams, then click Apply.
  3. Click the rep filter (it reads All reps until you pick someone) and choose a rep.
  4. Click the date range filter and choose Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, or All time.
  5. To clear your choices, click Reset.

The filters change the summary and all three tabs together. After you apply a team, a message may appear next to the filter: "Loading team members…", "Couldn't load this team's members", or "This team has no members". If the picked teams leave nobody to show, the tabs read "The picked teams have no members" or "Couldn't load the picked teams' members" instead of an empty table. If the rep list could not be loaded, the filter reads "Reps unavailable". When nothing matches, a tab reads "No scorecards in this range"; widen the date range or clear the team and rep filters.

Close an Initiative

Closing an initiative can't be undone. After you close it, managers can no longer fill out scorecards for it, and teams keep access to the scorecards they already completed. Only an active initiative can be closed.

  1. Open an initiative from the Active list.
  2. In the initiative header, click More actions.
  3. Click Close initiative.
  4. In the Close Initiative dialog, click Close Initiative to confirm.

A message reads "Initiative closed", and the initiative moves to Closed.

Create an Initiative

Creating an initiative takes three steps: choosing a starting point, filling in the initiative details, and launching it.

  1. On the Coaching page, click New initiative in the top-right corner.
  2. On the Choose a starting point step, click Custom scorecard to build your own, or click one of the template cards. Templates are grouped by call type (e.g., Discovery, Demo, Outbound, Renewal).
  3. In the Initiative name field, enter a name for the initiative.
  4. Enter a summary in the Description field.
  5. Under Assign to teams, click Select a team and choose the teams whose reps are scored. Click Add another team to add more.
  6. Under Apply initiative to, select Recordings, Emails, or Content viewed. Recordings is selected by default.
  7. Under Questions, type a question and click Add question. Repeat for each question you want to add.
  8. Click Next.
  9. On the Ready to launch? step, review the summary, then click Launch.

A name, a description, at least one team, at least one engagement type, and at least one question are required. The footer lists what is still missing (e.g., "To continue, add a name"). You can add up to 20 questions, and each question can be up to 300 characters. If no team has reps on it yet, the team picker says to add reps to a team in Settings first.

Reps are notified when the initiative launches, and questions can't be edited after launch. Click Back to return to an earlier step. After you launch, you return to the Coaching page.

Save and Resume a Draft

  1. On the details step or the launch step, click Save draft.
  2. Later, on the Coaching page, click Drafts in the Initiatives list.
  3. Click the draft to reopen it in the new initiative flow.

A draft that already has questions reopens at the launch step. A draft without questions reopens at the details step.

If you see an error

  • "Templates couldn't load" The template cards could not be loaded. Click the retry control, or choose Custom scorecard, which does not need templates.
  • "Teams couldn't load" The team list could not be loaded. Reload the page and try again.
  • "The initiative couldn't be saved. Try again." The draft did not save. Click Save draft again.
  • "The initiative couldn't be launched. Try again." The launch did not go through. Click Launch again.
  • "Failed to close initiative. Please try again." The initiative is still open. Click Close Initiative again.
