Example workflow

Perfect Storm: Signal-Based Outreach

Spots a "perfect storm" of buying signals on a tiered account, recommends the right contact, and drafts a signal-anchored outreach email - so a rep can act while the signal is still hot.

The play

One continuous workflow, from your ICP account list to a rep-ready, signal-anchored email.

Define ICP + Related Data

Point it at your ICP account list and tell it what you sell - this workflow scores and tiers it for you, no new list to build.

Monitor for signals

Watches tiered accounts for a "perfect storm" of buying signals landing inside the same rolling 7-day window.

Activate correct outreach

Names the right contact and drafts a signal-anchored email, ready for a rep to send while it's still hot.

(Use the ZoomInfo MCP tools if available; otherwise use the GTM CLI. Use the tool schema or CLI help for supported commands.)

I just connected ZoomInfo. Help me complete the job below.

1. Read my saved business context with get_gtm_context, or the CLI equivalent. This read is free. Use the returned offerings, ICP, and role to frame the work. If context is missing, continue with the information we have. Save changes only if I explicitly ask; a first briefing does not require updating shared business context.

2. Run the "Perfect Storm: Signal-Based Outreach" workflow example I selected in the marketplace - a chained sequence of 5 steps. First, and before doing anything else, ask me for the essential input this workflow needs, in a single message (e.g. the account we just closed, and what we sell) - do not start any research, tool call, or skill below until I've answered. If I don't have a specific account handy, suggest I try a placeholder like "Acme Corp" to see how it works, then invite me to rerun with a real one to make it mine. Only once I've given you that input, run these steps in order, passing each one's output into the next:
   1. **Score Accounts** - Score and tier the ICP universe
   2. **Company Intent Monitor** - Watch for a "perfect storm" of signals (Company Intent Monitor is a per-account lookup - run it on your top tier only (Tier A, or Tier A & B per your minimum-tier setting), capped at roughly 20 accounts, not the full tiered universe.)
   3. **Recommend Contacts** - Recommend the right contact
   4. **Personalize Email** - Write the signal-anchored email
   5. Get it in front of the rep - no packaged skill yet, so this is a manual hand-off. Tell me plainly what to copy and where it typically goes (a CRM task, Slack ping, or shared inbox), instead of stopping silently once the automated steps are done.
Preserve this job instead of offering a new task menu. Close with a compact, copy-ready summary of the concrete result - the account and contact, and the final artifact itself (a draft, a briefing, a shortlist) in its own block, not a narrative recap - so it can be pasted directly into a CRM task, email, or message.

3. Before calling a tool, check its schema or documented inputs rather than guessing at parameters. Ask only for missing inputs, in a single message, then name the tools and give a credit estimate if supported by their documentation. Label it as an estimate: actual charges depend on records and work done. Ask for approval once before paid research, then complete the selected job.

If a tool call comes back "No approval received" or a similar permission response, say so plainly, name the tool, and continue with the remaining steps. Don't retry the same call hoping for a different result, and don't invent an approval that didn't happen.

Include a source-coverage note of no more than 3 lines. Separate an unavailable or unauthorized source from a successful search with no matching records. If connection status is unknown, say so. Never infer "no customer history" from an empty result. Continue with available evidence and identify what is missing; use https://gtm.ai/guides/connect-customer-context for source setup.

Recommend CRM changes as drafts. Applying them requires an available, separately connected CRM workflow and my authorization. Do not claim a CRM update was made by ZoomInfo research tools.

Congrats on the Sales Ops build-out

Hi Dana - saw Meridian's hiring three Sales Ops roles this month, and separately that your team's been checking pricing recently. Teams scaling ops after moving off a point solution usually hit the same wall we solve: reps burning hours guessing which accounts are actually in-market instead of working the ones already showing intent. Worth 15 minutes to see whether it fits what you're building?

How this workflow works

Each step maps to a job to be done in our GTM taxonomy and a real, runnable skill. Expand a step for details.

1Score and tier the ICP universeRanks every account you're already tracking so "this account matters" isn't a guess.

Runs your existing ICP account list through firmographic and growth-signal scoring, producing an A/B/C tier per account. This step doesn't discover new accounts - it ranks the ones you're already watching.

Outcome

Every account in your list has a score and tier, refreshed on the same cadence your list already runs on.

Ways to customize

  • Re-tier on your cadenceRun this weekly, monthly, or after every list refresh - the rest of the workflow just watches whatever tier you land on.

2Watch for a "perfect storm" of signalsFlags an account only when several buying signals land inside the same short window.

Monitors tiered accounts for overlapping signals - hiring, website intent, tech-stack change - inside a rolling window, rather than surfacing any single signal on its own. A single signal is noise; three at once is a why-now.

Outcome

A short, high-confidence list of accounts where multiple signals just converged - not a firehose of every signal on every account.

No packaged skill produces a single combined "perfect storm" alert yet - this step is closest to Company Intent Monitor, which tracks the strongest single signal category (intent surges) on a watched account.

Guardrail: Company Intent Monitor is a per-account lookup - run it on your top tier only (Tier A, or Tier A & B per your minimum-tier setting), capped at roughly 20 accounts, not the full tiered universe.

3Recommend the right contactNames a specific person to reach at the flagged account, not just the account itself.

Takes the flagged account and recommends a contact based on role fit and buying-committee position, so the next step has someone real to write to.

Outcome

A named contact with title and verified email, ready to receive a drafted email.

4Write the signal-anchored emailDrafts outreach that references the actual signal, not a generic template.

Generates a short, personalized email that opens with the specific signal that triggered this account - the hiring surge, the pricing-page visits - rather than a generic value-prop opener.

Outcome

A ready-to-send draft anchored to a real, recent signal.

5Get it in front of the repNo packaged skill pushes this into a rep's workspace yet - treat it as the manual last step.

There's no automation in our catalog today that posts a drafted email into a CRM task, Slack channel, or inbox on your behalf. Until one exists, this step is a manual hand-off - copy the drafted email out and route it through however your team already surfaces urgent leads, a CRM task, a Slack ping, a shared inbox.

Outcome

The rep sees the flagged account and drafted email while the signal is still fresh.

This is the one step in the chain that isn't a packaged skill today - flagged here rather than implied as automated.

Why this workflow

Most signal-based outreach fires on one thing at a time - a job posting, a pricing-page visit, a tech-stack change - and reps learn to tune it out. This example only surfaces an account when several signals land in the same short window, on an account you've already tiered as worth watching. That combination is a much stronger why-now than any single signal alone, and the drafted email opens with the real signal instead of a generic template.

The workflow chains four of our packaged skills. Score Accounts tiers the universe, Company Intent Monitor is the closest available signal watch, Recommend Contacts names who to reach, and Personalize Email drafts the outreach. The last step - getting the draft in front of the rep

  • isn't a packaged skill yet, so it's called out plainly as a manual hand-off rather than something this workflow automates for you.

Try variations once you've made it yours: widen the signal window if your sales cycle runs longer, or swap the drafted email for a call script if your team prefers to work the phones on hot accounts.
