Contact Relationship Recap

Recap where you stand with one person across recent conversations, classify their posture toward you, and read whether the relationship is warming or cooling.

Overview

Contact Relationship Recap tells you where you stand with one person, read from your recent conversations with them. It blends two sources: contact-scoped conversation intelligence for what this individual has actually said lately, and contact research for their role and background. The result is a picture of their posture toward you and, more usefully, the direction that posture is moving.

The skill classifies each person into a clear posture: engaged champion, supportive, neutral, skeptical, or gone quiet. It then reads trajectory, whether that stance is strengthening or weakening, and grounds the call in evidence from the conversations. It will not name someone a champion, or flag a risk, that the actual dialogue does not support. Alongside posture it pulls what the person has raised recently, what they have committed to, and what they are waiting on from you.

This is a recent read, not a full history. Conversation intelligence reasons over the last few engagements and cannot search by topic or count mentions, so the recap reflects the current arc of the relationship rather than every interaction on record. When no conversation data exists for the person, the skill falls back to the contact-research view. It states clearly that the relationship read is limited without connected conversation history, and points you to your ZoomInfo admin to confirm coverage.

What It Does

  • Posture classification: Places the person on a clear scale from engaged champion through supportive, neutral, and skeptical to gone quiet, with the evidence behind the call.
  • Trajectory read: Says whether the relationship is strengthening or weakening and ties that direction to what changed, such as a reorg or a successful pilot.
  • Recent-from-them summary: Lists what the person has actually said or asked for lately, each point traced to the meeting it came from.
  • Commitment tracking: Surfaces what they promised and what they are waiting on from you.
  • Next-step suggestion: Recommends one evidence-based move to re-engage or advance, drawn from the conversations rather than a generic playbook.
  • Graceful fallback: Gives the role-and-background view and names the limitation when conversation data is unavailable.

Use Cases

Reading a Relationship Before Reaching Out

You are about to contact someone you have not spoken with in a few weeks and want to strike the right tone. Run the recap on the contact. It returns their current posture, what they last raised, and any open ask still sitting with you. You reach out already knowing whether to reconnect warmly or rebuild from a cooler footing.

Confirming a Champion Is Still Engaged

A deal depends on one internal advocate, and you need to know the advocacy still holds. Set the lens to whether the champion is still engaged. The recap reads recent conversations for their level of engagement and influence. It tells you whether the signal is holding or fading, instead of assuming the relationship is as strong as it was at the start.

Checking Whether Sentiment Cooled

A demo did not land the way you hoped, and you want to know if it changed how a stakeholder sees you. Point the recap at the contact with a lens on post-demo sentiment. It reads what they said afterward, classifies where they now sit, and shows the shift with evidence, so your next move responds to reality instead of hope.

name: contact-relationship-recap
description: Recap where things stand with a specific person across recent conversations, with emphasis on how the relationship is evolving. Identify the contact by ZoomInfo contact ID (preferred) or by name plus company (triggers a lookup). Blends contact-scoped conversation_intelligence for what this person has actually said recently with contact_research for their role and background. Use when someone asks "where are we with Jane", "is this person still our champion", "recap my conversations with this contact", or wants a read on an individual relationship before reaching out. Reasons over the last few engagements only.

# Contact Relationship Recap

Where we stand with one person, read from recent conversations: their posture toward us, and how it is changing.

## Prerequisites

Contact-scoped `conversation_intelligence` requires at least one connected email or meeting source; `conversation_intelligence` and `contact_research` consume AI credits. If no conversation data exists for the person, give the `contact_research`-based read and note that conversation context was unavailable, pointing the user to their ZoomInfo admin.

## Input

Provided via `$ARGUMENTS`:

- **Contact** (required) — ZoomInfo contact ID (preferred), or a name plus company to resolve via `search_contacts`.
- **Lens** (optional) — e.g. "is the champion still engaged", "did sentiment cool after the demo". Frames the recap.

## Workflow

1. **Resolve the contact.** Use the ZoomInfo contact ID directly; otherwise resolve via `search_contacts` (name + company) and confirm an ambiguous match before spending credits.
2. **Read the relationship.** Run contact-scoped `conversation_intelligence` and `contact_research` in parallel. Ask CI what this person has raised across recent conversations, how engaged and positive they have been, what they have committed to, and whether their stance has shifted. Keep CI scoped to this one contact; it cannot search by topic or count mentions, and sees only the last few engagements.
3. **Synthesize posture and trajectory.** Classify the person's current posture (engaged champion, supportive, neutral, skeptical, gone quiet) and whether it is strengthening or weakening, with evidence. Do not infer a champion or a risk the conversations do not support.

## Output Format

### Where we stand with [Name] — [Title, Company]

**Posture** — one line: engaged champion / supportive / neutral / skeptical / gone quiet, with the evidence.

**Recent from them** — 3-5 bullets on what this person has actually said or asked for lately (from CI, with source meetings).

**What's changed** — shifts in engagement, tone, or influence; e.g. went quiet after a reorg, warmed up after a successful pilot. Tied to evidence.

**Commitments / open asks** — what they promised or are waiting on from us.

**Suggested next step** — one evidence-based move to re-engage or advance the relationship.

### When there is no data

If conversation data is unavailable, give the `contact_research` view and state that the relationship read is limited without connected conversation history.
