## Overview

Intent data shows which companies are actively researching a topic right now, before they ever fill out a form. ZoomInfo tracks content consumption across a broad publisher and review-site network, learns each company's normal behavior, and flags when research on a topic spikes above that baseline. The result is a ranked, daily view of accounts leaning into your category, each tied to a verified ZoomInfo company profile.

This is the dataset behind the [Intent World Map](/playground/intent-map). It powers discovery (find companies showing intent for a topic) and enrichment (pull a known company's full intent profile).

## Key Data Points

- **Topic**: 5,000+ curated topics, each mapped to a category, department, and job function
- **Signal Score**: A 60-100 score reflecting how far current research is above the company's historical baseline
- **Audience Strength**: How large the group researching the topic is at that company (A to E)
- **Spike Detail**: Number of signals in the window, so you can tell a blip from a trend
- **Company**: Firmographics, domain, and location resolved against ZoomInfo's company graph
