## Overview

Find the audience you want to work with. Browse Audiences lists everything you have access to, with enough detail to tell them apart, and lets you filter by name, type, or who built it. It costs nothing, so the AI can look around freely before doing anything that spends credits. This is almost always the first step when working with an audience you already have.

## What You'll Get

A paginated list of audiences, up to 25 per page. Each entry carries:

- Audience `id`, used by [Get Audience](/docs/mcp/tools/get-audience)
- Audience name
- Record type, either CONTACT or COMPANY
- Record count
- Creator and last-updated metadata

## Best For

- Seeing which audiences exist before you build another one
- Locating an audience you remember by name
- Checking how large an audience is
- Getting the `id` that every downstream audience step needs

To inspect one audience's columns and rows, pass its `id` to [Get Audience](/docs/mcp/tools/get-audience).

## How It Works

**Your audiences**

Filter the list by:

- A case-insensitive search on the audience name
- Record type
- Creator name

## Technical Details

### Credits

Free. Browse Audiences is read-only and consumes no credits. See [Credits & Billing](/docs/mcp/credits).

### Requirements

You see the audiences your ZoomInfo access covers. Results are paginated at up to 25 per page.

### Automatic Tool Selection

The AI reaches for Browse Audiences when you ask what audiences exist, or when you name one. This is the discovery step: the model lists or searches, picks up the right `id`, then chains into [Get Audience](/docs/mcp/tools/get-audience) to inspect structure and data. From there the write tools take over. [Manage Audience Columns](/docs/mcp/tools/manage-audience-columns) and [Manage Audience Rows](/docs/mcp/tools/manage-audience-rows) need that same `id`, and so does [Upsert Audience](/docs/mcp/tools/upsert-audience) when it updates an audience that already exists. Creating a new audience is the one write that starts without one.

## Example Prompts

> *"What audiences do I have in ZoomInfo?"*

> *"Find my audience from Dreamforce."*

> *"List company audiences created by Dana."*

> *"How many records are in my SaaStr list?"*

> **Reading vs. building**
>
> Browse Audiences and Get Audience read existing audiences. To build one from an agent, chain into [Upsert Audience](/docs/mcp/tools/upsert-audience), [Manage Audience Columns](/docs/mcp/tools/manage-audience-columns), and [Manage Audience Rows](/docs/mcp/tools/manage-audience-rows); the full workflow, including the REST path, is in [Building Audiences](/guides/gtm-studio-audiences-api).
